Jack has really been coming into his element since turning three. He’s definitely come to be known as a “goofball” or a “joker” and I think that these photos really prove that out.
In these three months, Jack laughed and played a lot. In fact, he played so hard that he also fell from the play equipment at the park and gave himself a black eye/nose/cheek/lip. He really took it like a champ though.
Mama also started bringing him along to the Home Depot workshops that Daddy and Ellie have been going to for a while and he’s surprisingly good for his age. He just needs to be a little more tame with the hammer! Continue reading “April – June 2018”
This past weekend, Martina and I took a much-needed trip away from the kids. On the second night, we got an incredibly sweet video from Jack as he was going to bed, telling us how much he loved us. It made us think how much we missed him, even though we were enjoying time away from the kids. Continue reading “Sweet pleas from Jack [VIDEO]”
In August, Aunty Nicola and cousin Max were kind enough to visit us from England.
It really felt like a long trip, because we did so much every day that we really made the most of our time.
There was a jetboat ride on the Willamette, wine tasting, waterfalls, beaches, mountains, lakes, roses, playing around, snuggling, barbecues, stories and more. Continue reading “A visit from Aunty Nicola and Max”
As was the case in January, it’s been a bit manic lately with our move to Portland, so we haven’t had much time to do updates on the website here.
But, rather than deprive you all of Jack’s cuteness, here’s another little compilation from the last couple of months. Continue reading “February – April 2017”
There haven’t been many updates lately because we’ve been busy moving to our new home in Portland, OR. Expect more about that in another post later.
The other day, we had the difficult task of going to a wine release party at one of favourite local wineries. The kids were so well behaved and let us enjoy ourselves and while they were there, they meet there resident dog, Sigmund. Continue reading “Doggy? Doggy! [VIDEO]”
I was giving Jack a bath the other night and we treated him to some bubbles in the tub.
After realising that he could scoop them up and transport them to other surfaces, my face became his new target. Continue reading “Jack playing with bubbles in the tub [VIDEO]”
I love getting messages with videos of my kids while I’m at work.
I got this message a couple of weeks ago and it was a really sweet video of Jack saying hello to me but then he got this really weird scrunchy face right at the end… Continue reading “A weird hello from Jack [VIDEO]”
When Jack’s laugh gets going, it’s hilarious to listen to. One of those contagious ones that you can’t get enough of. Continue reading “Jack’s giggly laugh”
There are many ways in which Jack is different from Ellie. Several of the things he does don’t surprise us much because we’ve already seen them in Ellie, but there are some things which he does vastly differently from Ellie and thus, stand out.
One of these is Jack’s love of music. He loves to play the xylophone, loves to jam and bop along to music and also loves his drumset.
The other day, I put him up on my shoulders and started dancing to a song and he loved it!

This evening, Jack spontaneously started shaking his head at the dinner table, somewhat vigorously. Not sure what he was disapproving of, but he seemed to be enjoying being defiant! Continue reading “Jack shaking his head [VIDEO]”
