Breaking down with Jack [VIDEO]

There are many ways in which Jack is different from Ellie. Several of the things he does don’t surprise us much because we’ve already seen them in Ellie, but there are some things which he does vastly differently from Ellie and thus, stand out.

One of these is Jack’s love of music. He loves to play the xylophone, loves to jam and bop along to music and also loves his drumset.

The other day, I put him up on my shoulders and started dancing to a song and he loved it!

Becoming more interactive

Jack seems to be a bit slower than Ellie to pick up on speech, but then given how exceptionally she speaks, that’s perhaps not a wonder.

Nonetheless, Jack is very interactive. He jokes and plays and definitely understands what you’re saying.

This afternoon, just before we read a book, I thought we’d take a little picture together and Jack loved it, seeing himself on the screen and smiling at himself. Continue reading “Becoming more interactive”

Jack giving out hugs and kisses [VIDEO]

Jack is one insanely adorable child. He now understands when you ask for hugs and kisses and the way he comes up to you to give them out, including the way he tries to wrap his arms around you is enough to melt anyone’s heart. Continue reading “Jack giving out hugs and kisses [VIDEO]”

Jack’s first vacation – New England 2016

This summer, we spent a couple of weeks visiting with family in New England. We spent about a week each in Bath, NH and Kingston, MA.

While there, Jack got to meet his second cousins, Addison, Mason and Emmerson as well as other family members.

While there, he perfected walking and finally got the tooth through that had been bugging him for weeks. Continue reading “Jack’s first vacation – New England 2016”

Jack and his (Ellie’s) love glasses

I don’t recall how Jack came to be wearing Ellie’s “love glasses” but all that matters is that they work for him. He looks insanely adorable, especially when he throws that beautiful smile into the mix. Love this guy so much.

Jack’s 1st birthday [VIDEO]

It has been a whole year now since Jack was born.

366 whole days.

I’m really finding it hard to fathom that. It came so much quicker than it did with Ellie because life has been so much busier with two than it was with one.

Nonetheless, our little man really is becoming a little man now. He’s on the precipice of walking and all of a sudden, he’s changed from a little bundle of body parts to a little boy with human stature. It’s bizarre to witness.

This evening, to celebrate his birthday, we went to Love Food Central in St Pete – one of our favourite local vegan places – to enjoy dinner with some family. The owners were even kind enough to give Jack a piece of peanut butter pie with a candle in it and he boshed the lot of it! Continue reading “Jack’s 1st birthday [VIDEO]”

Jack getting a taste for solid food

With Ellie, as soon as she hit 6 months, we started experimenting with solid foods. We haven’t been quite as quick to jump on it with Jack, simply because we don’t have as much free time to experiment and prepare food! So he’s had the odd chomp here and there on an apple or a banana, but he certainly seems to be enjoying it. Continue reading “Jack getting a taste for solid food”
